CCI offers two certificate programs specific to surgical services to help nurses Get Ahead in their careers.
- Surgical Services Management
- Surgical Services Educator
Both programs are created for those individuals who want to fulfill a professional goal – to enhance their knowledge and ability to function in a more senior role either as manager or educator. However, individuals frequently find themselves in this role without the required background or training. The certificate programs focus on delivering detailed information on the most important subject areas necessary to achieve a level of expertise required to succeed in the role of manager or educator.
The CCI certificate programs are unique as they are the only ones on the market specific to perioperative services and require no travel or course attendance. Participants complete the program at their own pace according to their own schedule.
What is a Certificate Program
A certificate program is an outcomes based, non-degree granting education or training program.
Two Criteria
- A learning event or a series of events designed to educate or train individuals to achieve specified learning outcomes within a defined scope.
- A system designed to ensure individuals receive a certificate only after verification of successful completion of all program requisites including but not limited to an evaluation of learner achievement.

Upon successful completion of the program, a participant is conferred a Certificate of Mastery. Individuals are not granted a designation or associated acronym (for example, CAE for Certified Association Executive). In addition, there are no ongoing requirements to maintain a certificate.
