TrueNorth Award 2016

2016 TrueNorth Award Winner:
Doernbecher Children's Hospital

Doernbecher Children's Hospital has been named the 2016 TrueNorth Award winner. Presented by Competency & Credentialing Institute, CCI honors perioperative nursing facilities whose "true north" guides the nursing staff to be lifelong learners and models of continuous outstanding patient care.

"We are excited to honor the perioperative nursing team at Doernbecher Children's Hospital," said Shannon Carter, chief executive officer of CCI. "It is inspiring to see the way lifelong learning and continual excellence has been integrated into the culture of this nursing team."

Doernbecher Children's Hospital was selected as the winner through a competitive application process, which considers not only certification rates but reward programs and efforts to recognize CNOR certified nurses. At Doernbecher, these include a generous annual bonus, reimbursement for testing costs and nomination for the hospital based Nurse of the Year awards.
