Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) in Salisbury, MD, is one of two facilities who received a CCI sponsored grant from the AORN Foundation for CNOR Test Preparation. The facility was awarded $3,000 to put towards perioperative reference books, a CNOR prep course or study group materials. Grant applicant Susan Lynch, BSN, RN, CNOR, is putting these funds to good use with her colleagues, as the facility is moving towards a Professional Advancement Program. The first level of this program requires specialty certification for advancement. Lynch, who is already CNOR certified, is mentoring the perioperative nurses at PRMC as they begin to take the next step in their professional development.
