Steps to Recertify by Exam

CNORs who select to recertify by taking and passing the CNOR exam should follow the same steps as first-time test takers to ensure that they are familiar with the exam content, meet all the eligibility requirements, and understand the policies and procedures related to the exam.

 

Steps to Recertify by Exam

1. Determine the month you want to take the CNOR exam
2. Two month prior apply online (for example, if you want to take the exam in June, you will apply in April)
3. Logon to your account
4. Update your profile (AORN members be sure to enter your AORN ID number here)
5. Return to Main Menu
6. From the Main Menu, select Recertify by Exam  
   1. Recertify by Contact Hours
   2. Recertify by Exam
   3. Recertify by Portfolio
7. Follow the application steps
